DAVID WALLIAMS’ AMAAAAAZING ASSEMBLY FOR WORLD BOOK DAY!

On 2nd March, David Walliams hosted a very special and FREE schools event to celebrate World Book Day 2021!

David Walliams was in conversation with Blue Peter presenter Lindsey Russell for an AMAAAAAZING ASSEMBLY for World Book Day! Beamed directly into classrooms and living rooms around the country (both physical and virtual), EVERYONE was welcome to join in with this FREE event! It was held at 10:30am, with a catch-up screening at 4pm, so that as many people could join in as possible.

The event was a HUGE success, with thousands of people tuning in from across the country! In fact, the number of people that tuned in would have filled the seated area of Wembley Stadium – FIVE TIMES OVER!

The World of David Walliams Post Box!

David Walliams has been honoured with a dedicated Royal Mail post box. He is pictured outside London’s Natural History Museum for its unveiling. The museum features in his book ‘The Ice Monster’.

The World of David Walliams post box is not the only unusual one at the moment! To mark World Book Day, Royal mail have decorated a total of four post boxes. The other authors, like David, are some of the most popular British children’s authors. They include C.S. Lewis, Judith Kerr and Frances Hodgson Burnett. The post boxes are adorned with lines from some of the writers’ most famous works. They will be transformed for one month from March 5^th 2019.
